Arthritis At Home 238 – The study of gout related conditions using large data sets
In this episode of Arthritis At Home, Ellen Wang, Programs Coordinator for Arthritis Consumer Experts, speaks to Ms. Natalie McCormick, a junior faculty member in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at Massachusetts General Hospital working under the supervision of Arthritis Research Canada Research Scientist Dr. Hyon Choi. Ellen and Natalie share an insightful conversation about the study of gout and related conditions using large data sets. Together, they discuss metabolomics and the potential for a single medication to address multiple conditions.
About Ms. Natalie McCormick
Natalie is a junior faculty member in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at Massachusetts General Hospital mentored by Arthritis Research Canada Research Scientist Dr. Hyon Choi. For her Ph.D., which she completed at The University of British Columbia and Arthritis Research Canada (supervisors Dr. Antonio Aviña-Zubieta and Dr. Carlo Marra), she examined the little-known economic burden of systemic lupus erythematosus and related systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases (SARDs) on Canadian patients and society. She used administrative data from the British Columbia Ministry of Health to assess the direct medical costs of SARDs and survey data she collected from a sample of BC residents with and without SARDs to assess the costs of time missed from paid and unpaid work activities.

I have ankylosing spondylitis a RA arthritis and after my second vaccine injection 10 days later I started a horrible 2 to 3 month arthritis flare that left me bedbound. I had to take three weeks of steroids to get it to stop. Prior to that I was in clinical RA remission for two years. I’m not taking an immunosuppressant.

A word is enough for the wise. I used to think that love could cure anything but it only fed my narc's enormous ego. It is important to be wise when dealing with a narcissist and I’m glad that cyberhackinggenius helped cloned my wife’s phone. I got access to all her dealings both on phone and social media without touching her phone. All I did was share my wife’s phone number with cyberhackinggenius and I was able to read both her new and deleted messages from my phone without having to touch her phone. My wife was a cheating Narcissist and I’m glad to find out all her secrets and infidelity with the help of cyberhackinggenius. I live in California USA and able to access her phone messages through a remote link on my phone even while she was away in Canada cheating on me. I’m finally going through divorce with lots of evidence against her. I read all her deleted and recent chats on Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Skype. Thanks to Kelly from Arthritis Consumer Experts, thanks to Kerry Barnes for sharing her story and thanks to Dr. Carter Thorne for his innovation and vision. The Arthritis Program (TAP) in Newmarket Ontario is a world leader in arthritis care and has shown that early interdisciplinary care for RA prevents damage and disability and actually SAVES money for the health authority - particularly with reduced need for biologics, reduced need for surgery and reduced disability overall. TAP is an excellent model of care for other arthritis centres in Ontario and Canada. TAP is a Canadian innovative success and should continue in some form.
